Pennsylvania Governor signs bill making free mammograms available to women at high risk

Governor Edward G. Rendell signed House Bill 1606, sponsored by Representative George T. Kenney (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia), into law, making free mammograms available to women who are at high risk for breast cancer. House Bill 1606 also creates the Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Screening Act and establishes a program within the U.S. Department of Health to make breast and cervical cancer screening available for women between the ages of 40 and 49 who meet certain eligibility requirements.
