Digital vs. screen mammography: Phantom object detection is not enhanced by higher resolution

In a comparison of digital vs. screen mammography, phantom object detection was not enhanced by the higher contrast resolution of the digital units.

Scientists in the United States sought "to determine if the improved contrast resolution of full-field digital mammography (FFDM) with reduced spatial resolution allows for superior or equal phantom object detection compared with screen-film mammography (SFM)."
