Data demonstrate Lp-PLA2 is better predictor of cardiovascular disease in older women

diaDexus announced results from a study demonstrating that lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) is a strong independent predictor of coronary artery disease (CAD) in women, particularly older women (65 or older) where high levels of Lp-PLA2 conferred a nearly 3-fold increase in risk of CAD. These results were presented recently at the American Heart Association (AHA) scientific sessions in Dallas, Texas.
