Studies show adverse effects of tamoxifen as early breast cancer therapy

The latest data for the early breast cancer treatment Arimidex (anastrozole), have shown some potentially serious adverse consequences postmenopausal women may face if they are initially prescribed tamoxifen rather than an optimal hormonal treatment following surgery to remove a tumor. The criticalness of this initial treatment decision was emphasized in a number of new data presentations at ECCO 13, The European Cancer Conference in Paris, France.
