PEGylated liposomal topotecan has enhanced safety and efficacy in mice

The use of PEGylated liposomes for delivery improves the safety and efficacy of topotecan treatment in murine cancer models. According to recent research from China, "in an attempt to increase the accumulation of topotecan in tumors and improve its anticancer activity, PEGylated liposome (H-PEG) containing topotecan was prepared." "The in vitro cytotoxicity, in vivo biodistribution pattern and antitumor effect of H-PEG were studied systemically," explained Y.L. Lao and coauthors at the Beijing Union Medical College Hospital.
