Conjugated linoleic acid may limit VEGF-A expression in breast tumors

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) may limit VEGF-A (vascular endothelial growth factor A) expression in breast tumors. "CLA, a naturally occurring compound found in ruminant dairy and beef products, has been shown to possess anticancer ability in vivo and in vitro. There are several CLA isomers in ruminant produced food products, among which t10,c12-CLA and c9,t11-CLA are most potent," investigators in the United States report. L.S. Wang and colleagues, Ohio State University said, "VEGF-A has been implicated as an angiogenesis-activating cytokine.
