Alpha-linolenic acid has positive effect on heart rate variability in women

Alpha-linolenic acid has a positive effect on heart rate variability in women, suggesting it may have antiarrhythmic properties. "Some studies suggest that alpha-linotenic acid (ALA) may protect against coronary artery disease (CAD) and CAD related death (i.e. sudden cardiac death)," according to researchers from Denmark. "Thus, some limited data suggest an antiarrhythmic effect of ALA." J.H.
