Prediction model being developed to identify risk of developing anemia

A prediction model is being developed to identify patients at risk of developing anemia during chemotherapy for breast cancer.

"At present, oncologists prescribe chemotherapy according to standard dose schedules, and as a result many patients develop serious, dose-limiting toxic effects such as anemia. We aimed to develop a prediction model for anemia in patients with breast cancer who were receiving adjuvant chemotherapy," scientists in Canada reported.
