New research in the area of Breast Cancer detailed

Investigators in the United States and Australia have published new Breast Cancer data. Study 1: Mastectomy rates in breast cancer patients were found to be affected by patient distance to radiation therapy (XRT) facilities. According to recent research published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, "Treatment access underlies quality cancer care. We hypothesize that mastectomy rates in a rural state are independently influenced by distance to XRT and by changing XRT access through opening new facilities. Early-stage breast cancer patients diagnosed from 1996 to 2000 were identified in the Virginia State registry." ...
