Polymorphisms of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) gene hMSH2 was linked to carcinogenesis of the breast. According to recent research from Poland, "The response of the cell to DNA damage and its ability to maintain genomic stability by DNA repair are crucial in preventing cancer initiation and progression.
