Community/church-based education may increase mammography rates for African-American women

Community- and/or church-based education programs may increase mammography rates for rural African-American women. "The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a church-based breast cancer screening education program on mammography attainment by African American women 40 years old and older in rural Alabama," reported scientists from the University of Alabama.
