Decreased paraoxonase1 may enhance risk of heart disease in women with PCOS

Decreased serum paraoxonase1 may enhance the risk of atherosclerotic heart disease in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. According to recent research from Turkey, "Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) may have an increased risk for the development of hypertension and atherosclerotic heart disease (AHD), the pathophysiological mechanisms of which are not clear.
