New research in the area of bone mineral density detailed

Investigators in the United Kingdom, United States and Denmark have published new bone mineral density data. Study 1: Intermittent leg compression therapy may reduce the risk of osteoporosis, especially in sedentary in women. "Intermittent pneumatic compression has been shown to increase blood flow in the leg which, in turn, may improve BMD," investigators in England report. "We performed a pilot study to assess whether intermittent compression of the leg could improve BMD at the femoral neck. Thirty-seven postmenopausal women with low bone density T score <-1 at either hip or spine were recruited into the study of whom 24 completed." ...
