Pennsylvania may opt to give tax refund to breast, cervical cancer research

Pennsylvania residents will once again have the option to donate all or part of their state income tax refund to breast and cervical cancer research through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Research Act. By checking line 35 on tax form PA 40, individuals can opt to join thousands of Pennsylvania taxpayers who have already contributed over $1.7 million for Pennsylvania-based cancer research. In 1997, the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition worked with the state legislature to enact the Income Tax Check-Off program, which has since become the most popular refund donation option in Pennsylvania.
