CYP17 polymorphism may influence tamoxifen-induced hepatic steatosis

According to a study from Japan, cytochrome P450c17 alpha (CYP17) gene polymorphism may influence tamoxifen-induced hepatic steatosis. "Hepatic steatosis is a frequent complication, which sometimes develops nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), in breast cancer patients treated with tamoxifen, a potent antagonist of estrogen."
