Breast cancer foundation kicks off 2006 Komen Race for the Cure series

To kick off the 2006 season of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure Series, the Komen Foundation announced event dates and welcomes its new partnership with Frito-Lay SunChips brand as National Series Sponsor of the Volunteer Recognition Program. Now in its 23rd season, the Komen Race for the Cure is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world with 114 events in 2006. The Komen Race for the Cure series began in 1983 with one local event in Dallas, Texas. with 800 participants.
