Tamoxifen provokes distinct gene expression patterns in endometrial tissues. "Tamoxifen treatment for breast cancer increases proliferation of the endometrium, resulting in an enhanced prevalence of endometrial pathologies, including endometrial cancer. An exploratory study was performed to begin to understand the molecular mechanism of tamoxifen action in the endometrium," scientists writing in the journal Endocrine-Related Cancer report.
