Risks for psychopathologies evaluated in daughters of alcoholics

During the last decade, most of the research on genetic and environmental variables relevant to children of alcoholics has focused on the sons of alcoholics. In contrast, symposium participants at the annual meeting of the Research Society on Alcoholism in Santa Barbara, California, in 2005 focused on moderators of risk for alcoholism and other psychopathologies among daughters of alcoholics. Proceedings of the meeting are published in the February 2006 issue of Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research.
