Data on colon cancer are outlined in reports from the United States and Taiwan. Study 1: The estrogen receptor-beta gene in women is associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. According to a report from the United States, "Estrogen and androgens are thought to be involved in the etiology of colorectal cancer. We evaluated genetic variants of the estrogen receptor genes (ERalpha and ERbeta) and the androgen receptor gene (AR)."
