Monocyte adhesion is inhibited by 17-beta-estradiol via down-regulation of Rac1 GTPase

According to a report from Germany, "Estrogens confer atheroprotective effects that remain poorly understood. We hypothesized that estrogens directly target monocytes, and investigated the pathways via which estrogens might impact on monocyte adhesion."
