Human papillomavirus vaccination utilizes recombinant adeno-associated virus

According to recent research from Germany, human papillomavirus vaccination utilizes recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV).

"AAV have been developed and evaluated as recombinant vectors for gene therapy in many preclinical studies, as well as in clinical trials. However, only a few approaches have used rAAV to deliver vaccine antigens," wrote D. Kuck and colleagues, German Cancer Research Center.
