Health Experts, advocates show support for efforts to eliminate cervical cancer in California

On the heels of a national report showing that California ranks among the poorer-performing states in the fight against cervical cancer, health experts, advocates, a cervical cancer survivor and others gathered recently to show support for efforts to eliminate this preventable disease among California women.

In a luncheon briefing, leading cervical cancer experts and advocates outlined how new knowledge and technologies can help prevent cervical cancer. The event was hosted by the national, nonprofit, bipartisan organization, Women In Government, as part of its "Challenge to Eliminate Cervical Cancer Campaign."
