Polycystic ovary, but not polycystic ovary syndrome is common in premenopausal women with type 2 diabetes.

Investigators in Turkey conducted a study "to investigate the prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and polycystic ovary (PCO) among premenopausal women with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM)." This was a "case-control study of women of type 2 DM" who were being treated at a "tertiary referral university hospital."

"Ninety-two premenopausal women with DM, {{>=}}30 years of ages, and 20 age and body mass index-matched healthy premenopausal-eumenorrheic women were recruited into the study," stated F. Kelestimur and colleagues of Erciyes...
