Studies show permanent birth control procedure is option when tubal ligation unsuitable

Conceptus, Inc. (CPTS), developer of the Essure procedure, the first U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved, non-incisional permanent birth control method available, announced that new independent study data show the Essure system eliminates risks associated with traditional surgical sterilization for many women not eligible for permanent birth control.

The data were released at the 35th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
