A report, "Reversible deficiency of antimicrobial polypeptides in bacterial vaginosis," is newly published data in Infection and Immunity. According to recent research published in the journal Infection and Immunity, "Bacterial vaginosis is a common condition associated with increased risk of sexually transmitted diseases, including human immunodeficiency virus infections. In contrast, vulvovaginal candidiasis has a much weaker association with sexually transmitted diseases."
