Reports on breast cancer therapy findings from University of Toronto provide new insights

New investigation results, 'Aromatase inhibitors and cardiac toxicity: getting to the heart of the matter,' are detailed in a study published in Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. According to a study from Toronto, Canada, "Recent advances in breast cancer treatment include the advent of aromatase inhibitors (AIs) in the adjuvant setting with better efficacy and toxicity profiles than tamoxifen. However, AIs generally do not improve lipid profile as tamoxifen does, and there has been suggestion of increased cardiovascular risk with AI use."
