Research from Emory University has provided new information about empyema

"Postsurgical chronic empyema continues to present a complicated treatment scenario for thoracic and reconstructive surgeons. Muscle flaps are an important option in the management of complex thoracic wounds," scientists writing in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery report.
