New breast cancer study findings have been reported by scientists at University of Udine

According to recent research published in the Journal of Clinical Pathology, "Periostin is a secreted adhesion protein, normally expressed in mesenchime-derived cells. Aberrant expression of the periostin gene in epithelial tumours seems to play a role in angiogenesis and metastases."
