New findings from Laiko Hospital, Department of Cardiology describe advances in hypertension prevention

Fresh data on hypertension are presented in the report 'Aggressive blood pressure control and stroke prevention: role of calcium channel blockers.' According to recent research published in the Journal of Hypertension, "Cerebrovascular disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and its prevalence is expected to increase as a result of projected demographic trends. Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and death of over 30 million people each year worldwide."
