According to recent research from the United States, "Suboptimal adherence to prescribed oral anticancer agents has been demonstrated in several studies. Understanding the barriers to treatment compliance is becoming increasingly important because of the growing number of oral agents available to treat women with breast cancer." "To identify barriers that affect patient adherence to oral hormonal medications, a self-reported, 30-question Internet survey was posted on the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization (TM) Web site, www.y-me.org, from June 30, 2005, through October 31, 2005.
