Research from University Hospital, Medical Department reveals new findings on breast cancer

"As modern women delay childbearing, pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) becomes a more frequent problem faced by oncologists, gynecologists, and obstetricians alike. However, no evidence exists concerning the management of this condition," investigators in Ioannina, Greece report. "We summarized the current literature regarding epidemiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of PABC. Data were collected by searching PubMed and Medline for the period from 1950 to 2007. There are no randomized controlled trials regarding PABC management.
