Reports outline cancer research from S. Saisho and colleagues

"Although video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has been applied to pulmonary resection for pulmonary metastases, the clinical validity of this approach remains controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and problems of VATS for pulmonary metastasectomy," scientists writing in the journal Surgical Endoscopy and Other Interventional Techniques report. "From January 1993 to December 2003, VATS for pulmonary metastasectomy was performed in 53 resections for 48 patients at our institution.
