"Drug resistance to chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced breast cancer results in a decrease in treatment efficacy and in patient survival. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of ABCB1 and ABCC1 gene induction during chemotherapy on disease-free and overall survival of breast cancer patients," scientists writing in the Journal of Chemotherapy report.
