Research conducted at University of Strasbourg has updated our knowledge about acute diverticulitis

In this recent article published in the journal Annals of Surgery, scientists in Strasbourg, France conducted a study "To prospectively determine the functional impact of elective laparoscopic sigmoidectomy after prior acute diverticulitis. Decision-analysis for elective colonic resection after acute diverticulitis is predicated on future risk estimates of disease recurrence and complication rates."
