D.C. Mayor Fenty, Italian Ambassador Help Announce First-Ever Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure(R)

Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and the leaders of Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R) joined the Hon. Giovanni Castellaneta, Ambassador of Italy to the United States, at the Italian Embassy to officially kick off registration for the first-ever Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure(R), which will be held on the Washington, D.C. National Mall June 6, 2009.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure expects more than 50,000 people to participate in the Global Race and raise more than $6.1 million, 75 percent of which will stay in the D.C. area to address breast cancer disparities in the medically underserved communities.
