According to a study from Lublin, Poland, "The aim of the study was to evaluate the frequency of occurrence of HPV and co-infection: Chlamydia (C.) trachomatis and HSV-2 in cervical cancer. The Study group consisted of 570 paraffin-sectioned samples of patients with cervical cancer." "In order to identify viral and bacterial DNA in DNA isolated from archival, postoperative material, PCR analysis was performed using starters complementary to various types of HPV, HSV-2 and C. trachomatis.
