According to recent research published in the journal Cancer Investigation, "Statins (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase inhibitors), cholesterol-lowering agents widely prescribed for cardiovascular health, have been shown to exert several pleiotropic effects."
