In this recent report, researchers in the United States conducted a study "To estimate the effect of single and recurrent doses of antenatal corticosteroids on fetal bone metabolism. This was a secondary analysis of a cohort of pregnant women from a previously reported randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial of women at risk for preterm delivery who received weekly courses of betamethasone (active) or placebo after an initial course of corticosteroids."
