New azoospermia research has been reported by scientists at University of Groningen, Department of Hematology

2011 JAN 6 -- New research, 'Fertility preservation after chemotherapy for Hodgkin lymphoma,' is the subject of a report. "Treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma can negatively affect fertility. This review summarizes data on fertility after chemotherapy in adult patients," scientists writing in the journal Hematological Oncology report.

"Alkylating chemotherapy, especially if containing procarbazine and/or cyclophosphamide, is most harmful to gonadal functioning. Alkylating regimens cause prolonged azoospermia in 90-100% of men and ovarian failure in 5-25% of women under the age of 30.
