2011 MAY 26 -- A new study, "Paternal support and preterm birth, and the moderation of effects of chronic stress: a study in Los Angeles county mothers," is now available. "Maternal psychosocial stress is an important risk factor for preterm birth, but support interventions have largely been unsuccessful. The objective of this study is to assess how support during pregnancy influences preterm birth risk and possibly ameliorates the effects of chronic stress, life event stress, or pregnancy anxiety in pregnant women," investigators in Los Angeles, United States report.
