"This modality has variable reported ranges of sensitivity and specificity; however, it is a useful technique in establishing the cause of fever of unknown origin. We describe a case of 47-year-old woman who presented with fever and leukocytosis and was subsequently found to have tubo-ovarian abscess detected by Indium-111 leukocyte scintigraphy. The anatomic imaging in this case was nonspecific," wrote M.C. Kushen and colleagues.
