Reports from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Describe Recent Advances in Breast Cancer

2011 OCT 20 -- Fresh data on Breast Cancer are presented in the report "Discovery and validation of breast cancer early detection biomarkers in preclinical samples. 'Despite the widespread use of mammography for breast cancer screening, breast cancer remains the most common cause of cancer-related mortality among women worldwide. The identification of blood-based biomarkers useful for the early detection of breast cancer could have a major impact on reducing breast cancer disease burden by identifying cancers early when they are most treatable," scientists in Seattle, Washington report.
