U.S. FDA grants fast track status to glufosfamide for treating pancreatic cancer

Threshold Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted fast track status to one of the company's drug candidates, glufosfamide, for injection, to treat unresectable locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma previously treated with gemcitabine. Under the FDA Modernization Act of 1997, the fast track drug development program provides for expedited regulatory review for new drugs demonstrating the potential to address unmet medical needs for the treatment of serious or life-threatening conditions.
