Proteomic assay used to determine P450 profile in colorectal tumor metastases

A novel proteomic assay has been used to determine the cytochrome P450 (CYP) profile of colorectal tumor metastases. In a recent study, oncologists in England achieved "the direct identification of multiple" CYP enzymes "in healthy and cancerous tissue." "CYPs in human liver colorectal metastases were compared with those in the surrounding liver using a mass spectrometry-based proteomic approach," C.S. Lane and coauthors at the University of London explained.
