Detroit Medical Center hires five new heart doctors to boost cardiology program

The Detroit Medical Center has hired five top heart doctors from other area hospitals to help rebuild its cardiovascular program. Mike Duggan, the DMC's chief executive officer, announced the hires on June 1, 2004, saying the health system plans to re-establish its Harper University Hospital as a leading cardiology center. "If any one of these individuals signed up to take a position at the DMC we would be celebrating," he told The Detroit News for a June 2, 2004, story.
