FDA gives approval for generic morphine doses

KV Pharmaceutical Company (NYSE:KVa)(NYSE:KVb) announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market morphine sulfate in 15 and 60 mg strengths. The addition of these two new strengths of morphine sulfate expand KV's existing morphine offerings in immediate-release tablet and oral solution dosage forms, as well as broadening the company's offerings in the pain management category. KV's wholly owned subsidiary ETHEX Corporation will continue to market the company's morphine sulfate product offerings, and shipments are already underway. The domestic non-injectable morphine category is valued at $415 million. ...
