Biopharmaceutical company appoints new member to board of directors

Adherex Technologies Inc. (AHX) announced the appointment of Peter Karmanos, Jr., to the company's board of directors. Karmanos will replace Mark Rogers, who is stepping down from the board. Raymond Hession, a director of Adherex since 1998, will assume the role of lead independent director. Karmanos is chairman and chief executive officer of Compuware.
