Minnesota Thermal Science announces revolutionary new Cold Chain Solution

Minnesota Thermal Science (MTS) is launching the latest innovation in shipping frozen materials. Credo™ Series 50M is the world’s first minus 50°C container. It maintains thermal control, for frozen materials without the cost and restrictions of liquid nitrogen or refrigerated freight, for three days.

Transportation of valuable tissue samples and other perishable medical contents is precarious. It is often expensive and environmentally taxing in the face of extended timeframes and unexpected custom delays. Credo Series 50M addresses the needs of international and long-duration shipping of frozen materials. It maintains a temperature of -50°C to ensure contents remain frozen within temperature- range requirements.

“The Credo Series 50M is our latest model for the transport of frozen materials. We’re very excited to introduce a container that will preserve medical samples better than any other option in the marketplace and cut down on exorbitant shipping costs ,” said Karl Schlenker, Vice President of Minnesota Thermal Science. “Another advantage is that the container will hold payloads at -50°C for three days, but after five days it will still be below -18° which is still viable for most frozen medical requirements.”

Because of its unique Thermal Isolation Chamber (TIC) ® surrounded by Phase Change Material (PCM), custom formatted to the temperature range, it is environmentally friendly. The Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIP) forms a continuous barrier on all sides, enabling unrivaled passive thermal control. Credo Series 50M eliminates the need for the environmental risk and expense of dry ice, which is often prohibited in international transport.

“Minnesota Thermal Science is continually ahead of the curve in cold-chain shipping operations. The Credo™ Series 50M will provide pharmaceutical and biologics shippers an unprecedented level of control for their shipments of temperature sensitive products,” said Schlenker. “Our award winning containers have saved lives from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan to emergency rooms around the globe. The safe and reliable transport of delicate materials is our unrelenting mission.”

Minnesota Thermal Science provides innovative, scientific solutions for the safe transportation of sensitive tissue, pharmaceutical, blood and biologic products. Credo™ containers protect contents at defined temperatures longer than any other passive thermal control product available. They are reusable, environmentally friendly and deliver strong return on investment. Minnesota Thermal Science has achieved success worldwide in technological innovation, customer satisfaction, corporate growth and industry recognition. Winner of the U.S. Army’s Greatest Inventions and the AmeriStar Awards, the company serves customers domestically and abroad, across multiple industries.
