New management reports and enhanced hard and soft blocks appointment scheduling in the scheduling suite are the latest upgrades in NovaRad’s NovaRIS/NovaPACS combined radiology system to help improve workflow for hospitals, imaging centers and clinics.
The new management reports provide facilities with the ability to drill down into specific staffing, billing and productivity areas to better manage specific offices and/or departments.
Within the scheduling suite, NovaRIS now provides the flexibility to “hard block” time to eliminate erroneous appointment scheduling when staff is not available along with “soft block” that enables informational flags to be put into the system while still allowing staff to schedule appointments if they fit into the parameters of the soft block criteria.
Additional functionality in the new system includes the ability to:
- View multiple data sources at one time
- Create worklists for multiple sites and facilities
- Automatically purge temporary exams from the system based on the facility code
- Archive studies in the PACS according to the sending facility
“The new functions in this latest release help hospitals, imaging centers and clinics improve scheduling and other workflow processes to increase productivity,” said Tyler Harris, NovaRad director of implementation. “With this latest release we are continuing to provide complete, full-featured tools as an affordable price.”
NovaPACS is a complete, turnkey PACS offering fast image retrieval, full-feature viewer with intuitive interface, and 7-year on-site archive with off site emergency back up. Full screen viewing, easy to use menus and mouse-based functions are available to help enhance efficiency and referring physicians have complete access to images and reports from any computer. NovaRIS generates reports, measures profitability and facilitates paperless management of patient records.
NovaRad’s NovaRIS received the highest overall performance score in the RIS community hospital market segment of the 2009 KLAS “The Revival of RIS” report and has been voted as the Most Valuable Product in 2009 and 2008 by RT Image readers.
The combined RIS/PACS system is web-based and runs on the same open source platform to ensure seamless integration and help speed installation. The combined system is also available in Spanish and through an ASP model.
