Digestive Care, Inc. (DCI) announced that Winston S. Kirton and Patrick Ronan have joined the company’s senior management team. DCI is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing products to alleviate complications and symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders.

Kirton and Ronan bring years of experience and leadership in the pharmaceutical industry and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to DCI at a critical stage of the company’s growth and development. They join Tibor Sipos, PhD, President and Chief Scientific Officer, and William “Bill” Humphries, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, on the firm’s senior management team.

“With the addition of these two seasoned regulatory and legal professionals to the senior management team, DCI is poised to meet the company’s goal of an approved NDA for its marketed pancreatic insufficiency drug PANCRECARB® (pancrelipase),” Dr. Sipos said. “We are excited and energized about DCI’s future business growth and development opportunities.”

Kirton, a 20-year pharmaceutical industry veteran, is the Principal at The Kirton Law Firm, LLC, in Hightstown, NJ. The practice focuses on providing comprehensive strategic regulatory and legal services to FDA-regulated clients, developing and implementing corporate compliance programs and systems for regulated companies, and providing legal counsel and business advice to clients on domestic and international corporate and transactional matters. Prior to private practice, Kirton held leadership positions in global regulatory affairs and compliance at Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer Inc, Forest Laboratories, Bayer Corporation and Akros Pharma, Inc. Kirton received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Niagara University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. He has served as DCI’s General Counsel for the past two years.

Ronan, former FDA Chief of Staff, is the Founder and President of Greenleaf Health, LLC, a full service regulatory consulting firm in New York and Washington, DC, that provides strategic guidance for companies developing innovative solutions to pressing public health challenges around the globe. Greenleaf clients include pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies whose activities are regulated by the FDA. Prior to establishing Greenleaf Health, Ronan served as Vice President of Regulatory Policy & External Affairs at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. In his role as Chief of Staff at FDA, Ronan was the principal advisor on all agency issues to former Commissioners Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach and Dr. Lester M. Crawford. Ronan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Ronan has been providing strategic regulatory support to DCI for the past year.
